Meet The Team
Peter Sondergeld is the senior pastor of The Project Church, which he was instrumental in planting in 2011. He served as a director of Biblical Counselling Australia from 2013 to early 2018 when he stepped down to focus on Restore Ministries. He is a registered teacher, counsellor and counselling supervisor. He gets excited at the thought that God might work through him to grow people up to be more thoughtful, strong and passionate. Peter and his wife Angela have four sons. When Pete isn’t preaching, parenting, studying or counselling he loves to go camping and mountain bike riding or to simply play cricket in the backyard with the boys and enjoy coffee with his wife.
Sue Patterson is the women’s pastoral care pastor at The Project. She has more than thirty years experience in pastoral care, is skilled at getting to the heart of the matter and is passionate about seeing God transform people’s hearts and set them free. Sue serves as a leader and supervisor for Restoration Groups and is currently studying a Diploma of Counselling. She has three grown-up daughters with her husband of thirty years, Colin. When they’re not counselling, serving and loving on people Sue and Col love travelling and exploring (especially the coast of northern New South Wales), eating tasty fresh food, reading, soaking up nature and marvelling at creation.
Audrey Conroy has worked in education for 38 years, teaching and providing administrative leadership to support the education of young people with disability. She has a Diploma of Biblical Studies and has engaged in various Christian ministry courses over the years. Audrey currently serves as a leader in Restoration Groups and is passionate about seeing women come to a deep realisation of God’s immense love and grace toward them and having that knowledge transform how they think and live in relationship with Him. Audrey and her husband Alan have three married children and four grandchildren. They love to go bushwalking or to dinner and the movies when not working or spending time with the family.
Alex McLennan has worked in various roles in the financial sector and currently works in human resource learning and development. Over the years, he has served in administration, on governance boards and in pastoral roles in churches. Alex now serves as a leader in Restoration Groups and loves the way Jesus patiently and graciously meets men in a profoundly deep relational way. Alex gets pumped when he sees God working in the fine practical details of his own life and the lives of others; especially the way Jesus brings lasting change. Alex is a married to Christine and they have four children. They enjoy chasing a bargain and holidays at the beach.
Henrietta Lee has worked in hospitality for more than twelve years, sharpening her ability to relate to people of all sorts. She studied journalism at uni and works as editor-in-chief for a young women's magazine. Henrietta has served as a leader in Restoration Groups for the past three years and loves seeing God meet people with truth and mercy in the midst of their struggles and pain, while she continues to receive fresh revelation of His goodness, kindness and deep love for her along the way. When she isn't carrying plates, pouring coffees or stringing words together, Henrietta loves to travel, cook, ride her bike and go rock climbing with friends.
